THE POLYTECHNIC, IBADAN ANNOUNCES APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Polytechnic, Ibadan has invited interested and qualified candidates for admission into National Diploma for Full Time, Daily Part-Time and Continuing Education Part-Time Programmes in the institution.

In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Modupe Fawale and made available for newsmen by the Institution’s Director of Public Communications, Alh. Soladoye Adewole disclosed the criteria and requirements for admission.

“For the Full Time, interested candidates must have made the institution either First Choice in the 2022/2023 UTME or Opened to a Change of Institution to The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

“Candidates for both Full Time and Daily Part-Time Programmes must have obtained a UTME Score of 150 and above. In addition, the DPP Candidates must obtain a Part-Time Application Form from The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

“Candidates for the National Diploma Programmes are also expected to obtain a Part-Time Application Form from JAMB.

“For all The Programmes, Candidates must also possess five (5) relevant O’Level Credits in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings.

“Detailed information about available courses and requirements can be accessed on the institution’s admission portal at (http://tpiportal.polyibadan.edu.ng/admissions).

The institution further stressed that the deadline for the sale of the application form is Friday, 16th September 2022

STRIKE : MOUAU-ASUU REJECTS FG’s NEW SALARY STRUCTURE FOR LECTURERS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia has described the Federal Government’s Consolidated Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS) as “unilateral”, hence unacceptable. The group’s position is contained in a statement jointly issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the union, Michael Ugwuene and Paul Nwiyi, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Saturday. The statement is entitled, “Failure of Government: Collective bargaining agreement is the way forward.” It stated that CONUASS awarded increases of 35 per cent and 25 per cent of current salaries to Professors at bar, and other ranks, respectively. ORTOM TO STRIKING ASUU BSU– END SYMPATHY STRIKE OR I'II STOP YOUR SALARIES

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, Monday, threatened to stop paying the salaries of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Benue State University, BSU, branch if they fail to call off the ongoing sympathy strike with the national body. He noted that the sympathy strike had gone beyond the allowed three days and appealed to the lecturers to return back to the classroom in the interest of Benue children. The Governor who spoke in Makurdi while reacting to appeals by parents and students on the striking lectures to call off the sympathy strike noted that he had ensured the prompt payment of the salaries of the striking lecturers despite their action lamenting that their action was already taking its toll on the students and parents.
