UNILORIN IMPORTANT NOTICE TO FRESH STUDENTS, 2021/2022 SESSION

This is to inform all fresh students of the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN for the 2021/2022 Academic Session that they can now proceed with payment of school fee as the payment portal has been actived and deadline has been fixed.

This was made known in a press statement signed by the Unilorin Student' Union President and Public Relations Officer, Comr. Omoluabi and Comr. O' Smart respectively. The statement reads

"For the avoidance of doubt, the payment of school charges for fresh students has commenced and as such fresh students are advised to proceed to start making payment.

Kindly disregard the rumour that freshers should not pay school charges until physical registration.

After payment, fresh students should wait till resumption in December to continue their physical and course registrations.

Fresh students can access their portal through https://uilugportal.unilorin.edu.ng/login.php

with their JAMB registration number and surname as password.

Fresh students with clearance problems are also advised to visit the admission office of the University."

STRIKE : MOUAU-ASUU REJECTS FG’s NEW SALARY STRUCTURE FOR LECTURERS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia has described the Federal Government’s Consolidated Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS) as “unilateral”, hence unacceptable. The group’s position is contained in a statement jointly issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the union, Michael Ugwuene and Paul Nwiyi, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Saturday. The statement is entitled, “Failure of Government: Collective bargaining agreement is the way forward.” It stated that CONUASS awarded increases of 35 per cent and 25 per cent of current salaries to Professors at bar, and other ranks, respectively. ORTOM TO STRIKING ASUU BSU– END SYMPATHY STRIKE OR I'II STOP YOUR SALARIES

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, Monday, threatened to stop paying the salaries of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Benue State University, BSU, branch if they fail to call off the ongoing sympathy strike with the national body. He noted that the sympathy strike had gone beyond the allowed three days and appealed to the lecturers to return back to the classroom in the interest of Benue children. The Governor who spoke in Makurdi while reacting to appeals by parents and students on the striking lectures to call off the sympathy strike noted that he had ensured the prompt payment of the salaries of the striking lecturers despite their action lamenting that their action was already taking its toll on the students and parents.
